I am now just over 36 weeks pregnant, and it’s beginning to hit me that Wesley will be arriving soon (maybe even sooner than we think)! Time has flown these past several weeks, and it really blows my mind to think about the fact that I will be holding this precious baby boy in my arms in no time at all. I can't wait for that special day!!
I really can’t even imagine what that moment will be like when we see and hold Wesley for the very first time. What emotions will I feel? How will I react? What thoughts will be racing through my mind? The most important and life changing moments in my life thus far have been when I accepted Christ as my Savior and when I married Bill, the love of my life. I know that the moment in which I give birth to our son will also rank right up there as one of the very best moments in life for Bill and me both. It’s amazing to think about how each of those life events represent new life… a new life in Christ, a new life as husband and wife together as one, and the new life of a child. They all go hand in hand as ultimately we could not experience new life and life to the fullest without God’s grace in the first place. I am overwhelmed with thankfulness as Bill and I prepare to embark on this exciting new chapter of life known as parenthood. We know we can’t do this alone, but we are prepared to trust Christ and allow him to guide us every step of the journey ahead.
Now it’s time to play a little catch up. It’s been over a month since I last blogged, and since then we’ve crammed a lot in. I’ve had two baby showers, hosted a "sprinkle" shower for a close friend and her second baby on the way, had a weekend getaway with Bill to Salado (a short “babymoon” if you will), enjoyed a weekend of going to the local farmer’s market and working in the yard (yay for spring flowers!), and pretty much completed Wesley’s nursery. I’ve got my hand dandy “to-do” list by my side each day, and I’m checking off as much as I can before this baby decides to come. Hopefully a little prenatal massage/ pampering will also be marked off the list in the next couple of weeks (hint hint to my hubby). :) Wouldn’t every mom out there agree that a little pampering and relaxation should be in order before baby?? I sure think so!
I hope to post pictures from one of my baby shower’s soon (it was a nautical theme and seriously the cutest thing ever!). Until then however, here are pictures from our other couple’s baby shower that Bill’s residency class threw for us (also super cute!), the shower I helped throw for my close friend Amanda (who just so happens to be due with a baby boy one month after me), our weekend getaway to Salado, and some updated preggo pics. I plan on doing a separate post with detailed nursery pictures soon as well. Enjoy!
